The EMBRS Method in 6 Steps:

EMBRS Features Built Into Every Lesson

CRA

Each concept is structured with a Concrete-Representational-Abstract framework, allowing for a multi-sensory approach.

Interleaving

Structured year-long interleaving enhances retention by spiralling concepts leading to long-term mastery of concepts.

Instructional Loops

Our exclusive TEACH>TALK>TRY method adheres to Cognitive Load Theory and increases feedback opportunities.

A.I. Marking Assistant

AMIS (Automated Marking and Insight System) is our AI-powered marking assistant, streamlining grading and supporting teachers effortlessly.

Capacity Building

Our ready-to-use lessons increase teacher confidence and empower non-math specialists to become expert math educators.

Audio Translations

Multi-language learners benefit from embedded audio translations on every slide, ensuring equitable access to mathematics learning for all students.

Unlike traditional math programs, our research-based curriculum is built on direct instruction, interleaving, and the CRA (Concrete-Representational-Abstract) approach. These methods ensure deeper conceptual understanding, long-term retention, and improved problem-solving skills for students.

While we have no affilliation with UFLI or the University of Florida, some observers have compared EMBRS to UFLI for a few reasons.

  1. EMBRS is a structured and systematic way of teaching math
  2. EMBRS names the skills required to develop strong math ability and provides direct teaching to help build those skills

In many ways, EMBRS mirrors the structured literacy approach of many phonics-based reading programs and interventions.

Our curriculum is fully aligned with Common Core and state-specific standards, ensuring students meet or exceed grade-level expectations. Every lesson is designed to build fluency, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving skills required for high-stakes assessments. When a teacher enters the EMBRS portal, they simply select their state to be directed to state-specific lessons.

AMIS, our AI-driven grading assistant provides instant feedback and automated scoring, reducing grading time while giving teachers real-time student performance insights. This allows for quick intervention, differentiated instruction, and data-driven teaching decisions. Students fill out their assessment pages with pencil and paper. This page gets submitted to our portal and auto-marked by AMIS, to allow teachers to focus on responding to learners rather than spending their evenings marking checkmarks and X’s.

Yes! EMBRS Math is a Tier 1 program designed for all learners, including those needing math intervention or remediation. Our structured approach, and scaffolded supports help struggling students close learning gaps while allowing advanced learners to accelerate their progress. Each lesson has an On-Ramp to support learners who require prior knowledge, and each lesson has an Accelerator for students who are ready for a new challenge. Additionally, teachers get access to lessons from all grades. MTSS and SPED co-ordinators will immediately recognize EMBRS as an excellent resource to support all students.

Instead of rote memorization, our approach fosters deep mathematical thinking. Using Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) modeling, instructional loops, and real-world applications, students develop a strong number sense, problem-solving skills, and long-term comprehension that translates beyond the classroom. The interleaving built into every lesson makes sure the conceptual understanding sticks and students develop enduring understanding.

Our structured, turn-key lessons provide teachers with a clear, step-by-step instructional framework that ensures effective math instruction without extra planning. With built-in guidance, scaffolded teaching strategies, and real-time student engagement, educators improve their skills through the act of teaching itself, building confidence and expertise with every lesson.
